Let’s get one thing straight: positivity is positivity.

“Toxic positivity”?

Really? Positivity, toxic?

Seriously, who came up with this term?

It’s like saying toxic sunshine or toxic laughter.

Positivity can’t be toxic, just like a puppy can’t be venomous.

We’ve become a society obsessed with categorizing everything into neat little boxes with snazzy labels.

Slapping a new name on it doesn’t change the core issue; it just makes everyone more confused.

I get it.

Life kicks you in the shins, and someone comes up spouting rainbows and unicorns, missing the emotional mark by a country mile.

Something crappy happens — your car breaks down, your dog eats your favorite shoes, or your lover suddenly…
